Sunday 7th October saw the first combined harvest celebrations for the Benefice of Eversley and Darby Green in Odiham Deanery.
About 90 people (and a couple of dogs) gathered in the arena at Rycroft Riding Stables in Eversley to worship and share fellowship. Using Exodus 16 we were reminded by the story of the manna and quail that we should only gather and store what will meet our immediate needs. Offerings were taken for the Farming Community Network and Hart Foodbank. The service produced great enthusiasm for worshipping together more often, and building on goodwill in the local communities to bring the different generations together to share skills.
Rev'd Lerys Campbell and Rev'd Rachel Hartland are particularly grateful to Bill Hundley for the loan of his riding arena and parking, The Village Stores for the harvest loaf, and the team from both parishes who put together the staging, sound, floral arrangements, flooring for wheelchair access, and everything else that made this such a great morning together.
