We invite all couples who are being married during the year, to attend a Marriage Preparation Course. This is an opportunity to discuss the Christian aspects of marriage and look at the Marriage Service.
The aim of the Marriage Preparation Course is to help couples lay the foundations for a relationship that will last a lifetime.
During the course, you will discover practical tools to help you build the foundations for a lasting marriage. We look at:
The format is very relaxed, comprising of short talks interspersed with exercises and questions for you to discuss as a couple (and at no time in the course will you have to disclose anything personal to anyone else).
The course is based on Christian principles but is suitable for people with or without a church background. It is for any engaged couple who want to work at having the best possible start to their marriage.
We strongly recommend you make every effort to attend as those who have done so in the past have found it very beneficial.
The course is usually held at a weekend and run over two sessions, the first on the Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm (lunch provided!) followed by a session from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on the Sunday.
The course could be described as self-development for couples.
The course was really helpful. It helps you think of things you may face during marriage you never would have thought of before. I feel better equipped now to build a strong marriage.
I didn't think this would help much as we have been together for 5 years but I have discovered so much about my fiance which I am truly thankful for knowing.
A really informal, enjoyable activity. It allowed me to see things in a new light and appreciate my relationship.
It opened my eyes as to how married life should be, being prepared to make sacrifices and work together as one.
